Sketch Of Man Who Shot Pregnant Woman Released

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- New clues have emerged in the search for a gunman who police said shot a pregnant woman in the back.

GA Daily News reporter Ryan Young found out that police now have a sketch of the perpetrator.

The shooting happened Nov. 24 at about 3:30 p.m. outside the victim’s Lake City apartment in Clayton County. The shooting forced the woman into emergency surgery and childbirth, police said. Doctors had to remove bullet fragments from the baby boy’s wrist.

Lake City police Detective Faith Case said police have produced two sketches because she believes the man was wearing a disguise and that the hair he appeared to have was not real.

”Taking his hoody off at the time … you could see this was attached to a baseball cap and he didn't have any hair, said Case.

Neighbors provided police with a description of the man.

”Somebody knows who it is. I want to catch him, said Case. ”She (the victim) wasn't bothering anybody and wasn't involved in anything. This person needs to be caught, Case said.
