Rashad Jones: Police investigate fatal shooting in Lawrenceville
Police continue to probe the death of a 22-year-old man whose body was found in a Lawrenceville subdivision on Tuesday.
According to police, officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of Bridge Walk Drive and Oak Road in the Riverstone subdivision just before 9 p.m. Shortly after arriving at the scene, they found the body of Rashad Jones near the tennis courts.
Neither Jones nor the people involved in the shooting live in the subdivision, and police said the group met up to discuss some type of scam they were running.
Investigators say they believe the motive behind the shooting could be connected to a scam or some type of ripoff.
Police are calling the case a homicide, and are interviewing several witnesses and potential suspects.
