ATLANTA - Atlanta rapper Young Thug was arrested Thursday at Lenox Square mall for an outstanding warrant.

Officers responded to a stolen vehicle call at the mall when officers spotted the rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams. After radioing in to confirm that there is indeed an active warrant out for the popular rapper's arrest, he was then detained on failure to appear in court., police said.

Young Thug was escorted out through an employee entrance to avoid a crowd. He was then taken to a patrol, handcuffed and taken into custody. 

”Officers did take into consideration that Mr. Williams is a high profile music entertainer and escorted him to the employee stairwell and walked out of the rear to avoid crowd issues with taking Mr. Williams into custody, police said in the report.

He was later released.
