Rapper Aspen Kartier arrested for alleged animal cruelty caught on Twitch stream

Brookhaven, Georgia — Police have taken a 19-year-old local rapper and Twitch streamer into custody after a video circulated online showing her allegedly mistreating a puppy during a livestream.

According to the Brookhaven Police Department, officers received multiple complaints after clips appeared to show Aspen Easterling, who performs under the name Aspen Kartier, striking a 3-month-old Maltipoo on her Twitch broadcast.

Officers executed a search warrant Friday night at a home on Town Boulevard — the location where the incident allegedly occurred — and found the dog. Police said the animal “appeared to be in good health.”

Easterling was arrested on animal cruelty charges and booked into the DeKalb County Jail. The puppy has been placed in the care of DeKalb County Animal Control.

After the video went viral and drew condemnation on social media, Twitch temporarily suspended her channel for violating the platform’s community standards.

Animal welfare advocates, including PETA, shared portions of the footage online and condemned what they described as disturbing behavior.
