Police suspect son Mark Wilson in mother's stabbing death
Gwinnett County police are investigating after a woman was found dead in her Lawrenceville home Tuesday.
Police said Phyllis Wilson, 72, was found dead by her husband and her caretaker in the home on Simonton Glen Way, Gwinnett County. They said the discovery was made around 10:30 a.m.
Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh found family and friends consoling each other in a neighbor's garage. One of them described the victim as a "very gentle, nice lady."
The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office determined Wilson was stabbed to death.
Police said they are now looking for Mark Wilson, 42, the woman's son, and have swo out warrants against him for aggravated assault and felony murder.
Investigators said Mark Wilson suffers from schizophrenia and is believed to be driving a champagne-colored Toyota Camry with the license plate ACE-4286.
Anyone who knows Wilson's whereabouts is asked to call the Gwinnett County Police at 770-513-5300. Police are urging anyone who may come in contact with Wilson to use caution.
Police are still trying to determine the motive behind the stabbing.
