Deputies at Coweta County Jail said they caught a drug suspect sneaking in illegal substances in a creative way.

Jonathon Kimsey tried to conceal the drugs under the footpads of his shoes, they said.

Detectives said they found a hollowed-out rubber ball containing hashish butter in one of Kimsey’s shoes. In the other shoe, they found LSD wrapped in aluminum foil, they said.

Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager said every suspect booked into the jail is asked a series of questions.

Yeager said, ”Before they go in the back door, ‘Is there anything (contraband) you have on you before we go through that door?Because you’re crossing a guard line.’

Going past the door with illegal drugs is a felony, Yeager said.

Police said they arrested 23-year-old Kimsey and 21-year-old Conner Spaulding during a traffic stop when investigators found drug pipes, drug grinders, a large pressure cooker and a gas mask in the car.

According to detectives, those were all tools used to make and use illegal drugs.

Yeager said investigators must be vigilant in searching suspects who come into prisons.

”You just have to constantly look. Because people who want to violate the law are constantly finding new ways to hide stuff, and we’re finding new ways to find it, said Yeager.
