Police shot and killed a man in Cobb County Tuesday afteoon while trying to serve a felony warrant at the Vinings Crossing Shopping Center.

Authorities tried to serve the warrant to 24-year-old Nicholas Thomas while he was working at the Goodyear tire shop on Paces Ferry Road in Smya.

Police said that when Thomas saw them coming, he jumped into a Maserati and tried to escape.

According to authorities, when Thomas approached the officers in the vehicle, they opened fire, striking and killing him.
