Police: Milton Man James Flatau Exposed Himself To Children At Pool

MILTON, Ga. -- A Milton man is facing child molestation and indecent exposure charges after police said he exposed himself to two teenage girls at a neighborhood pool over the weekend.

”When he got out of the pool, he was still exposing his genitals to the public, said Milton p olice Capt. Shawn McCarty.

According to a police report obtained by Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik, James Flatau, 52, had been staring at the girls from across the pool when they noticed his genitals exposed. They told their parents, who in tu called police.

Police said they arrested Flatau at his townhome without incident.

”He didn’t really have a story for us, said McCarty. ”He said he didn’t expose himself is all he would say.

The report said neighbors had previously noticed Flatau standing near a window performing a sex act on himself.

”It’s horrible, said neighbor Rebecca Fields. ”I can’t believe somebody would actually do that.

Neighbor Harry Ewing told Petchenik that Flatau’s arrest came up at Wednesday night’s neighborhood association meeting. He said parents are conceed about Flatau retuing to the subdivision and having access to the pool.

”Hopefully it’ll be dealt with in a harsh fashion, Ewing said.

Flatau remained in the Fulton County Jail without a bond. police said.

If convicted, police said Flatau would have to register as a sex offender.
