Police Look For Savannah Jail Prisoner, Gary Michael Johnson  Who Escaped

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Savannah-Chatham police are still searching for a 21-year-old man who escaped from the Chatham County jail.

The Savannah Moing News reports that authorities say Gary Michael Johnson slipped out of restraints, scaled a fence and rolled over razor wire to escape from jail Wednesday evening.

Metro spokesman Julian Miller said on Thursday that Johnson still is being sought. Johnson had been arrested on charges of theft by receiving of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and giving false information.
