Police Identify Woman Found Dead in Jonesboro as Rochelle Alisha Thomas
Rochelle Alisha Thomas was found dead in Jonesboro on Wednesday, January 25.

Authorities released the name of a woman who was found dead under a blanket in Jonesboro on Wednesday.

Police said Rochelle Alisha Thomas, 33, of Riverdale, was discovered dead in woods behind the Harmony Crossroads Apartments on Tara Boulevard.

”We received a call from a resident who noticed a suspicious blanket or sheet-type garment in the woods that had not been there previously. Upon closer inspection, they discovered a body was actually under the sheet, said Jonesboro Police Chief Franklin Allen.

Thomas, a mother of two, had been reported missing around 2:30 p.m. when she failed to pick up her children from school, according to Riverdale Police Chief Samuel Patterson.

Allen said detectives are treating the case as a homicide. They do not believe it was random.

Authorities located Thomas’ car off of Tara Boulevard.
