Police charge four in University Avenue deadly shooting of Claude Dickerson

Police have arrested four suspects in connection with a deadly shooting that happened on University Avenue.

The incident happened on July 26 outside of an apartment building around 2:45 p.m. According to police, a black male was found lying on the ground unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the back of his head.

Police say Claude Dickerson, of Montgomery, Alabama, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he passed away shortly after his arrival. According to police, Dickerson may have been a victim of an armed robbery.

According to police, Terry Denham, 32, was arrested on August 4 and taken to the Fulton County Jail. Denham has been charged with Murder, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Jerome Banks, 40, tued himself in on August 11 on a murder warrant he had from this case. He was taken to the Fulton County Jail.

According to police, John Husband, 27, was taken into custody on August 14 on a murder warrant.

Police say Janorris Spears, 28, was taken into custody on Thursday on a murder warrant.
