ATLANTA - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says the two women wanted in connection with the theft over $170,000 in tax refund checks have been arrested.

John Bankhead of the GBI says April Nicole Brown was arrested in Atlanta on Monday. Bankhead says a tip came into the the GBI regional office in Calhoun which was passed on to the Department of Revenue.

Michelle Brooks-Powell was arrested by deputies with the Barrow County Sheriff's Office on Saturday.

Brown, along with Michelle Brooks-Powell, are accused of cashing checks, which included both state and federal refunds, at a check cashing business in Acworth. Both face several counts of forgery and theft.
