Police: 3-year-old fires shotgun into van roof

AUSTELL, Ga. -- Police said a 3-year-old fired a shotgun into the roof of a van in the Atlanta suburb of Austell.

According to court records, two women were driving in a van with a loaded Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun inside. Authorities said the 3-year-old grabbed the weapon and fired off a round into the van's roof.

Cobb County police spokesman Michael Bowman told the Marietta Daily Joual that no one was hurt in the Sept. 6 incident.

Authorities said arrest warrants were issued for the adults involved, who face charges including reckless conduct.
