Police: 22-year-old Jesus BelmaresTook 3-Year-Old Daughter to Burglary

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - Police say a man took his 3-year-old daughter with him on a burglary in a Gainesville neighborhood.

Hall County Sheriff's officials say a resident called authorities Tuesday moing to report that a neighbor's house was being burglarized by two men. Authorities found the men 22-year-old Jesus Belmares and 17-year-old Lazaro Lopez driving nearby in a white Ford Crown Victoria.

Authorities say the men led police on a short chase before crashing. Inside the car, police found Belmares' daughter, along with stolen property.

Both suspects have been charged with burglary, and Belmares was also charged with cruelty to children.

The child is in state custody.
