For the runners of this year's Peachtree Road Race, eligible runners have a big incentive to cross the finish line first.

If the runner who wins the Peachtree Road Race and the $15,000 first prize also clinches the Professional Road Racing Series title, they will get a $35,000 bonus to bring the total award money to $50,000.

For the record, the best men's time ever recorded was Joseph Kimani's 27:04 back in 1996. For the women, Loah Kiplagat ran a 30:32 in 2002, winning her third straight Peachtree Road Race.
