Passenger Richard Popkin arrested over airport gunfire
A 43-year-old man was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Inteational Airport after the gun he was carrying inside a bag discharged while being handled at the security checkpoint.
The incident happened at about 9 a.m. Sunday, the Transportation Security Administration said. Richard Popkin, 43, has been charged with weapon-carrying in an unauthorized location.
No one was hurt by the gunfire. The TSA is investigating the incident.
