A MARTA bus driver was treated for minor injuries Tuesday night after being assaulted by a passenger in southeast Atlanta.

The incident happened about 7:30 p.m. on Hank Aaron Boulevard at Atlanta Avenue, according to MARTA spokeswoman Cara Hodgson.

Hodgson said the driver, whose name has not been released, was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital and released Tuesday night.

The driver was initially thought to have been stabbed. But Hodgson said Wednesday that MARTA police determined that the driver was not stabbed.

No arrests have been made.
