Part-Time Cop David McClelland Gets Trial In Woman's Stabbing Death
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- A part-time Washington Township police officer accused of stabbing a 92-year-old woman to death will go to trial.
David J. McClelland is charged with criminal homicide, conspiracy and other charges in the death of Evelyn Stepko, 92, who was found dead on July 18 in her Coal Center home.

McClelland's father, David A. McClelland, 56, was ordered to stand trial on the same charges after a preliminary hearing last month. Police said the elder McClelland was Stepko's neighbor and that he had been stealing large sums of money from Stepko with his son's help.
The younger McClelland pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police arrested the father and son after making a match on blood samples found inside of the house.
"It appears that he had a secondary role, at best, according to the allegations of the complaint. It appears that his father had more of a direct involvement," said attoey Dan Chunko.
Chunko said it is likely that the younger McClelland will testify against his father during the trial.
