Sex can be a seriously dangerous liaison for houseflies

For humans, it might only result in some temporary embarrassment if the neighbors hear loud cries of passion during bedroom fun times. But for flies, losing themselves in the moment can have deadly consequences. Researchers have discovered that flies' wings make a fluttering noise when they mate, a noise that subsequently makes the distracted pair very \"visible\" to bats.
According to their report, bats didn't notice flies when they were simply walking around or sitting still. But as soon as the flies gave off the tell-tale sounds of some insect romance, nearly 26 percent found themselves under attack by bats, with more than half of those getting eaten.
So next time, consider yourself lucky if all you have to deal with is a scowl from a sleep-deprived neighbor. [Source]
