Parent Linnea Wynn Accused Of Pointing Gun At Day Care Owner
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A mother is accused of pointing a gun at the owner of her child's day care center.
The mother claims she pulled out the gun only after the owner pepper-sprayed her and her husband.
But Devon Hall, the licensed home day care center owner, said she only used her pepper spray after the couple attacked her.
"And I’m standing here like, 'Oh My God.' I grabbed my Mace and I got to macing them because they were trying to attack me," Hall said.
Hall told Channel 2's GA Daily News that she had to defend herself when Linnea Wynn's husband hit her. After that, she said, Linnea Wynn did the unthinkable.
"As I'm macing them, she runs to her car and gets a pistol and pulls the gun out and cocks it. I ran in my house," she said.
Clayton County police arrested Linnea Wynn on aggravated assault charges.
Hall said the attack made no sense.
"You got mad and wanted to fight me because I charged you a $10 late fee," she explained.
But Deandre Winn said it was more than that. He said he and his wife received a text message from Hall at 5:52 saying she was changing the rules and charging a $10 late fee if they picked up their 2-year-old son after 6. He thought sending a text message about changing the rules eight minutes before the deadline was bad business. He said that when he got to the day care center after 6 and tried to get his child's belongings, Hall began to pepper spray him and his wife.
But Hall said Wynn isn't telling the whole story.
She said when she asked the Wynns to pay the late fee, that was what set them off.
"Her husband hits me right on the side of the face," said Hall.
Hall's son said that's when he saw Linnea Wynn go to her car and grab the gun.
"And I was, like, right there. The gun was pulled out right in my face," Hall's 12-year-old son said.
Hall said day care kids were around and shouldn't have had to see the Wynn's disrespectful behavior.
"I don't need these parents assaulting me either and disrespecting my business," she said, crying.
Hall said the Wynns are always late picking up their child and now he can no longer attend her day care.
