Oregon teen Grant Acord allegedly stockpiled bombs for Columbine-inspired attack
A teenager arrested in Oregon was plotting an attack on his high school inspired by the Columbine shootings, according to officials. Grant Acord, 17, was reportedly stockpiling explosives — including Molotov cocktails, napalm bombs and pipe bombs — in a secret compartment under his floorboards.
District Attoey John Haroldson said Acord also had a checklist and a timeline for an attack on West Albany High School. "I can't say enough about how lucky we are that there was an intervention," Haroldson said. Albany police received a tip off about the planned attack, searched Acord's room and have now charged him with attempted aggravated murder. He will be tried as an adult, and police are searching the school for explosives.
