ATLANTA - Holiday shopping used to be all about heading out to the store to find you best values -- but now one consumer expert says your best bet is letting the stores come to you -- online.

She says some of the best bargains and the simplest comparison shopping is just a mouse click away.

One expert says the values are online and there are more enticements to get you spend with sites -- including offering free shipping.

Storefronts all over the country are expected to get more and more busy in the next few weeks -- with shoppers looking for the best deal this holiday season.

But some shoppers tell you you won't find them in the mall but at the computer terminal.

"It's the convenience, it's simple, you don't have to worry about standing in line or trying to figure out what you want if you already know what you want," said shopper Brandy Wyche.

Online shopping expert Andrea Woroch says she's not alone -- adding that more and more people are taking advantage of the value and convenience of online discounts.

"Companies actually offer online coupons to online bargain hunters. They know that people these days are looking for ways to save money, so online coupons are a win-win for retailers and consumers. Retailers can attract new clients and reward loyal consumers. Consumers see that coupon as a way to save money," said Andrea Woroch of Surfmyads.com .

In addition to using online coupons, use comparison sites to find your best values and combine or stack codes and coupons to maximize savings.

"Perhaps you use a 25 percent off coupon along with a free shipping code, so you're maximizing your savings or you could use a coupon on top of a sale or clearance item," said Woroch.

She says what you shouldn't do is get wedded or tied to a specific brand, avoid black friday in store sales and most importantly -- don't pay retail price for anything.

"Creating a list will help you stick to a budget, so just jot down the names of people you want to get a gift for, maybe a couple of ideas on the price range you want to spend. Then you want to research prices," said Woroch.

Still some shoppers say there is nothing like going into a brick and mortar store and picking up the product you're going to buy.

"I like to touch things, with clothes and goods like that you need to try them on, everyone's a different size," said shopper Mike Schuler.

Woroch says she understands Shuler but still says don't make a commitment to purchase until you compare prices and the easiest place to do that is online.
