Off-Duty Officer Shoots Teen In Nightclub Parking Lot

ECATUR, Ga. -- An off-duty officer in DeKalb County shot a suspect in the parking lot of a night club oveight.

Two off-duty officers went to Club Obsessions on Glenwood Drive at about 3 a.m. Saturday after there were reports that several gunshots were heard coming from the club’s parking lot, authorities said.

When the officers arrived, they said they were confronted by a 19-year-old man.

One of the officers shot the man, but police have not said what caused the officer to fire.

An investigation into the shooting was being conducted by the DeKalb County Police Criminal Investigation Division and the DeKalb County Police Inteal Affairs Unit.

The officer who shot the man has been placed on routine administrative leave.
