PRESIDENT Barack Obama has attracted criticism after helping Danish Prime Minister Helle Thoing Schmidt take a 'selfie' with UK Prime Minister David Cameron at Nelson Mandela's memorial.

There has been a trend of teenagers taking funeral selfies but now it appears that the same trend is extending to world leaders who were keen to take photos of themselves attending Mandela's memorial.  Mr Obama can be seen helping Ms Thoing Schmidt balance her phone as she takes as selfie with him and Mr Cameron.

Michelle Obama can be seen in the picture as well looking less than impressed, or perhaps just with a suitable expression for a memorial.

Many who saw the selfie of the three leaders were quick to take to Twitter to slam the move as being in poor taste.
