Obama campaign and Koch brothers trade nasty notes
Nasty notes are the weapon of choice in a battle between Obama and the billionaire Koch brothers. Obama campaign manager Jim Messina fired off a fierce e-mail accusing the siblings of \"jacking up prices at the pump\" and committing $200 million to \"try to destroy President Obama before Election Day.\" Now, a Koch Industries rep has fired back an equally ferocious letter, calling Messina's accusations \"irresponsible and misleading.\"
And, the possibly election-swaying gas price hikes we're seeing? Koch Industries says it doesn't control prices or own gas stations. But addictinginfo.com reports they do control key parts of the market, including \"shipping crude oil, refining it, distributing it to retailers, then speculating on the future price.\"
