Details: A Papa Johns customer was shocked when she saw that she was described as 'lady chinky eyes' on her order's receipt

Papa Johns pizza has issued an apology to a customer after an employee identified her as 'lady chinky eyes' in her order.

The racial identification was caught by New York City customer Minhee Cho Friday night after the store printed her receipt.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, she uploaded a picture of the paper with the caption: 'Hey @PapaJohns just FYI my name isn't 'lady chinky eyes''

Contacting the pizza shop, The Huffington Post reports that an assistant manager said she was unaware of the incident.

But by Saturday evening, the company had reached out to Ms Cho with an apology.

'We are very sorry for this incident & would like to contact you to apologize,' the company Tweeted to her.

Taking to their Facebook page, they also issued a public apology and explanation.
