ATLANTA - Temperatures are finally expected to climb above freezing in north Georgia, where up to 10 inches of snow continue to pose problems while conditions improve in metro Atlanta.

The Dalton Daily Citizen reports that some north Georgians haven't been able to leave their homes because street-clearing efforts left piles of snow in their driveways

Dalton police spokesman Bruce Frazier says major thoroughfares are mostly clear, though some icy spots remain.

National Weather Service meteorologist Robert Garcia says there's a slight chance of freezing rain for the north Georgia mountains Sunday night and Monday.
