NICOLE Richie put a paparazzo to shame on social media after he dropped his child on the floor to take a photo of her.

The designer and TV personality is mother to daughter Harlow and son Sparrow with Joel Madden.

While travelling from New York City to Los Angeles Richie shared the upsetting incident with her 1.1 million followers on Instagram.

"This paparazzi dragged his poor, sweet little girl on my plane from NYC to LA. As he ran her off the plane, he dropped her ON THE FLOOR of LAX as she laid there, crying her eyes out.. Just to get his shot. #Heartbreaking #FatherOfTheYear" (sic), she posted, attaching a photo of the photographer shooting a picture while his child was lying on the ground.

The 31-year-old fashionista has recently spoken about how committed she is to her family's welfare, particularly her two children.

"Joel and I both grew up in what other people would call an unstable home. We both come from divorced parents and did a lot of moving around, so it's very important to us to create a stable environment for our kids… or at least try to," she explained to British newspaper The Telegraph.

Richie was adopted by Lionel Richie and his now ex-wife Brenda Harvey when she was nine years old, shortly afterwards, they went through a difficult divorce.
