News anchor Amanda Davis arrested on suspended license
COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- The Cobb County Police arrested a longtime Atlanta news anchor on a traffic charge.
Amanda Davis was arrested at Cumberland Mall on Tuesday for driving on a suspended or revoked license, a misdemeanor, according to a Cobb County Sheriff's Office booking report.
A Cobb County police spokesman said Davis, in a blue Mercedes, was pulled over for an expired tag. The officer then discovered Davis was driving on a suspended license.
Davis remained in jail Tuesday night after her arrest. She is set to make a court appearance at 8 am on Wednesday.
Davis was arrested in November 2012 for driving under the influence near Piedmont Park after an accident on Piedmont Avenue. In addition to DUI, she was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain lane. She was eventually found not guilty of DUI in that case.
In June 2015, Davis was arrested again on a DUI charge in Cobb County.
Davis was also arrested for driving under the influence, speeding and failing to maintain lane in December 1991.
Davis spent 26 years at WAGA- TV before retiring in April 2013. She was hired last week as a moing news anchor for WGCL-TV in Atlanta.
