New emojis coming this month

The Unicode Consortium, the non-profit organization that co-ordinates the computing industry standard for text and symbol sets have approved 72 new emojis.

These new emoticons include new foods, faces, sports and objects and will be bundled as part of Unicode 9. The bundle will be made available on the 21st of June and will likely make its way into the new Apple iOS and Android N which are slated to release in the Fall.

The Unicode Consortium websites has the emoticons shown in various depictions to represent the different platforms on which they will appear. However, Emojipedia shows how they will appear on the iOS platform this year.
