Mother, Leaders to Hold Rally on Bullying
Authorities said a family member discovered Jaheem Herrera's body in his Atlanta-area home after he hanged himself on April 16.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - The mother of an elementary school student who took his own life will hold a press conference Monday in DeKalb county to rally against bullying.

Jaheem Herrera -- 11-years old -- hung himself after his mother says he was continuously teased.

His mother, Maskika, will join with community leaders, parents and students at Dunaire Elementary School at 1 p.m. to discuss how bullying has directly or indirectly affected them.

This month, the newly revised bullying law goes into effect. It requires the state develop a bullying policy that local school systems can use as a model.
