Police: Mother, daughter shot to death inside Lithonia townhome

LITHONIA, GA - Police say they have a man in custody after a double-homicide early Wednesday moing that investigators are describing as a domestic violence related shooting.

Officers responding to a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. at the Stonecrest Heights subdivision found a mom, 41-year-old Tasharina Fluker and her daughter, 26-year-old Janazia Miles shot to death inside their townhome in the 2600 block of Parkway Trail. An 8-month-old infant was also found unharmed inside the home.

Lt. Rod Bryant said they have arrested 40-year-old Michael Thoton in the deaths of the two women. Bryant did not immediately identify the relationship between the victims and the suspect but said he knows the women.

Thoton, 40, has been charged with two counts of murder.
