Mom says man attacked her child at Alpharetta park

A Roswell woman said a man threw her 4-year-old daughter to the ground while she was on a swing at an Alpharetta park.

The victim’s mother said the girl was traumatized by what happened at Wills Park over the weekend.

”I want him to sit in jail and think about what he did so this doesn’t happen again, said Christole Abdelmaseh.

Abdelmaseh told Channel 2 Action News reporter Mike Petchenik that she heard a man yelling at her daughter, then witnessed the attack.

”He lifted the swing up even higher.  He looked around and said, ‘Get off.’  Then he slammed it down and slammed her onto the ground, onto her back, said Abdelmaseh.

Abdelmaseh said she ran over to check on her crying daughter and confronted the man who’d done it.

”You do not slam a child to the ground and his response to me was, ‘My granddaughter wanted to get on the swing,’ said Abdelmaseh.

She said she called the police and plans to press charges.  Abdelmaseh said her daughter has been traumatized by the experience.

”She’s had nightmares about the bad man who slammed her to the ground and gave her a boo-boo, said Abdelmaseh.

Alpharetta police said they took a report on the incident, but were under the impression Abdelmaseh wasn’t going to press charges.  Officers said the case is still active and she can press charges if she wants to.
