MADISON, Ga. -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said a 27-year-old Morgan County middle school teacher is charged with child molestation, enticing a minor and sexual assault.

The GBI said Laura Dyer of Watkinsville surrendered on Monday after a warrant was obtained for her arrest. The GBI said the child's guardian also was arrested and charged with extortion.

The GBI said the teacher's arrest stems from a joint investigation with the Madison Police Department and the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
