Mertinya Deloatch: Woman accused in Girl Scout funds theft arrested

Authorities say a woman accused of stealing money from a local Girl Scout troop tued herself in on Monday.

East Point police say Mertinya Deloatch  is accused of stealing about $5,000 from a south Fulton Girl Scout troop.

The scouts say they worked hard to raise the cookie money. Some of it was meant for an awards banquet and Six Flags trip.

Police say they have not recovered the money yet.
 
Officers charged Deloatch with one count of theft by conversion.
