A double-decker bus caught fire along Interstate 85 in northeast Georgia on Wednesday.

The Megabus was traveling from Atlanta to Charlotte, N.C., when it caught fire near the South Carolina border.

Both northbound lanes of the interstate were shut down at mile post 179 while crews worked to clear the scene. Drivers were being redirected toward exit 177, but traffic was backed up about 10 miles.

News 2 Chopper flew over the crash site as crews worked to take apart the bus and clear debris.

All 80 passengers aboard the bus were able to leave the bus safely.

Megabus is a discount bus company that just began service in Atlanta within the year.
