MARTA Train Hits, Kills Passenger in Atlanta

ATLANTA - A MARTA train has struck and killed a person in Atlanta. The incident happened around 5 a.m. at the Lindbergh station and officials early Friday moing were working to uncouple cars from the train to reach the person who was hit. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office told the Atlanta Joual-Constitution that the person died in the incident.

The MARTA rail line was shut down north of downtown early Friday, impacting the red and gold lines that run to Atlanta's northe suburbs.

MARTA officials have set up a "bus bridge" to shuttle passengers between affected stations.
