Man And Woman Shot, Police Search For Gunman in southwest Atlanta
ATLANTA -- Two people were shot in an apartment complex in southwest Atlanta on Thursday moing, police said.
News Chopper 2 showed crime tape stretching across a parking lot in the 3700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
Video showed at least one person taken into custody in the back of a police cruiser and officers questioning several other people.
Channel 2's Erin Coleman said witnesses told her one of the victims was a man who may have been shot in the chest and the other victim is a woman who was shot twice.
"She was holding her ear. Blood was coming out of her ear but we didn't even know, you know, she was shot in the back," said witness Javon Beckford.
"All I heard was gunshots and people screaming. That's it. Too many (gunshots) to count on your hands. It was a lot of gunshots," witness Bruce McMillan told Coleman.
Police described the shooter as an African-American man with no shirt and brown shorts, last seen carrying a shotgun.
