Maine woman Courtney Washbourne facing charges in fatal Cobb County crash

A woman has been arrested following a crash in Cobb County that killed one and injured three others on Sunday.

The crash happened around 6:45 p.m. on Johnson Ferry Road at Woodlawn Parkway in Marietta.

Police say 38 year-old Courtney Washboue of Yarmouth, Maine was heading south on Johnson Ferry Road when she ran a red light and collided with three vehicles.

The driver of one of the vehicles, 59 year-old Sharon Freeman of Roswell was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Three other people sustained non life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Washboue also sustained injuries. She is currently being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on charges of violation of a traffic control device, driving under the influence and homicide by vehicle-1st degree.
