Macys Returns & Exchanges Policy

RETURNING ITEMS PURCHASED AT MACYS.COM
We want you to be happy with your purchase from macys.com. You may exchange or retu most merchandise for a full refund, less shipping charges, based on the original form of payment, anytime after purchase. If you are retuing a gift, you will receive a store merchandise credit.

In the case of an exchange, shipping for the new item will be free of charge. (However, we do not refund retu shipping charges, unless we made an error.)

 


Retus & Exchanges: Retuing to a Store

Most macys.com items can be retued to a Macy's store, with original proof of purchase. Read items with special guidelines for information about restrictions on store retus, as well as other restrictions.

Retuing a macys.com purchase
Take the merchandise, the invoice (with bar code attached) that came with your order and the original packing materials to any Sales Associate to process your exchange or retu. You'll receive a credit to the original tender (e.g. major credit card). Please note shipping fees are not refunded for preference retus.

Retuing a gift you received
Follow the instructions above and you'll receive a store merchandise credit.

Retuing a store purchase
Store purchases must be retued/exchanged at a Macy's store location. Find a Macy's store near you

Unfortunately; macys.com cannot accept items that were purchased at Macy's stores. Please do not attempt to retu items purchased at a Macy's store using our online shipping label, they will not be accepted and will be retued to you. We cannot accept responsibility for items purchased in stores that are retued to our warehouses.

Retus & Exchanges: Retuing by Mail

Most macys.com items can be retued by mail, with original proof of purchase. Read  for information about retu restrictions.

Retuing an item
Fill out the retu form on the front of the invoice, indicating item(s) being retued and the reason(s) for the retu.

Securely pack the merchandise and ship to macys.com via US Postal Service or UPS using the enclosed pre-addressed shipping label (print another shipping label). Remember to insure your package. Please note, we have included a prepaid shipping label in your package to make it easy to retu your item(s) by mail. Please be aware that the retu shipping and handling fee may be deducted from the amount of your credit.

Please allow 7-10 business days for the retu transit time, plus an additional 4 business days upon receipt for the retu to be completed and the refund to be issued to your account.

Exchanging an item
Fill out the retu form on the front of the invoice, indicating item(s) being retued and the reason(s) for the retu. Then fill out the exchange form on the back of the invoice indicating the items you'd like in exchange.

Securely pack the merchandise and ship to macys.com via US Postal Service or UPS using the enclosed pre-addressed shipping label (print another shipping label). Remember to insure your package.

We'll process your exchange within 4 business days of receipt, and you will not be charged shipping on the exchange. If the requested exchange item is not available, you will receive credit to the original form of payment. Merchandise credits will be issued for gifts. If you paid with a gift card, the debited amount will be retued in the form of a new gift card.

Exchange macys.com items by mail
You will not be charged for the shipment of your replacement item. Use the Retu Form that accompanied the merchandise shipment. We provide a preaddressed shipping label for your convenience. Misplaced your preaddressed shipping label?Print another.

  • Complete the Retu Form, indicating item(s) being exchanged and reason(s).
  • Securely pack your merchandise with the invoice.
  • Ship US Postal Service or UPS using the preaddressed mailing label. Please insure your package.
  • We'll process your exchange within 4 days of receipt, though it will take longer to appear on your statement. If you provided an email address, we'll notify you via email when your retu has been received and processed.
  • If the requested exchange item is not available, you will receive credit to the original form of payment. Merchandise credits will be issued for gifts. If you paid with a gift card, the debited amount will be retued in the form of a new gift card.

 

SPECIAL MERCHANDISE RETURN GUIDELINES
JEWELRY
Jewelry items purchased from macys.com must be retued within 30 days of receipt in its original condition and in its original packaging



STERLING SILVER FLATWARE
Sterling silver flatware purchased from macys.com may not be retued to our stores. To retu sterling silver flatware purchased online, use the Retu Form that accompanied the merchandise shipment or contact Customer Service at 1-800-BUY-MACY.


 
BRIDESMAID DRESSES
Bridesmaid dresses purchased online may be retued to the Macy's store nearest you or by mail to either of the following Macy's store locations:

Bridesmaid dresses must be retued within 30 days of the receipt of purchase with valid proof of purchase and all tags attached. Wo or altered garments may not be retued. Proof of purchase is defined as a valid receipt, a packing slip or a vendor direct shipping invoice.

 


AREA RUGS
Area Rugs purchased from macys.com may not be retued to our stores. To retu a rug purchased online, repack the rug in its original packaging materials and contact Customer Service at 1-800-BUY-MACY. You will be contacted in 7-10 days by the shipper to arrange a pick up.


GOURMET FOOD AND GIFTS
Food and gourmet gifts may not be retued.



BONUS GIFTS
If retuing an item that qualified you for a bonus gift, please include the bonus gift with your retu. If you choose to keep the bonus gift, your account will be charged for its value.

 


MATTRESSES
Macy's offers a 60-Day Comfort Trial on mattresses. If you're not satisfied with your new mattress after 60 days, contact Macy's within the next seven days to receive a one-time credit (minus fees) toward a new mattress of equal or greater value. New mattress selection must be made within 14 days. Mattress must be undamaged, unsoiled and free of stains. Please note that your delivery fee will not be refunded. A $70 redelivery fee will be charged, and a 10% handling fee will apply. For complete details, please call 1-800-BUY-MACY.


FURNITURE
Please contact us within 3 days of delivery if there is any problem with your fuiture purchase. If an item has been damaged during manufacturing or delivery, we'll schedule a technician to come to your home to make repairs. If you'd like to retu your purchase for other reasons, including color, style are other aesthetic reasons, we'll pick up your fuiture for retu and a restocking fee of 10% will be assessed; delivery fees are nonrefundable.
