Authorities say a Macon woman has died after she was struck by a car while crossing a street.

Bibb County Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley said 47-year-old Martha Ard was trying to get across the juncture of Pio Nono Avenue, Broadway and Houston Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday when she was struck.

The Telegraph reports that Ard was pronounced dead at a hospital emergency room shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
