Local news anchor Amanda Davis charged with DUI in wrong-way crash

FOX 5 News Anchor Amanda Davis was involved in a two-car accident early Sunday moing.

According to an Atlanta Police Department report, the crash happened around 12:20 a.m. on Piedmont Avenue.

Following the accident, Davis was charged with DUI, Failure to Maintain Lanes, and Reckless Driving.

The investigator reported that he found reasonable cause to believe that Davis was driving while impaired.

Davis’ driver’s license was confiscated and she was taken to the Atlanta Jail on charges of DUI, failure to maintain lane and reckless driving.

In a statement, the Fox 5 vice president of news wrote, ”We are aware of the situation and we are currently investigating.

The other driver involved in the crash was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital after complaining of injuries.
