LINDSAY Lohan's mother Dina Lohan has been arrested for alleged drunk driving after cops pulled her over for speeding and discovered her blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

New York State police say Dina Lohan was stopped on Long Island's Nassau County's Northe State Parkway at 11pm local time on Thursday after troopers clocked her driving at 77 mp/h in a 55 mp/h zone.

Lohan had a blood alcohol concentration at 0.20 per cent, police said. That's more than twice the legal limit in New York.

Lohan complained that cops had hurt her during the arrest. However, when police called an ambulance and had medics examine Lohan, they found no injuries.

Lohan was booked, issued tickets and then released. She's due in court Sept. 24.

Phone calls and emails to a lawyer and publicist who have represented Lohan in the past weren't immediately retued.

Lohan's troubled daughter, Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan, has famously struggled with addiction and been in and out of rehab for years.
