Lawrenceville school on lockdown after nearby fatal shooting

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities say Phoenix High School in Gwinnett County is on lockdown after a fatal shooting near the school.

According to Lawrenceville police, one person was killed and two others injured in the shooting, which happened in a parking lot on West Pike Street around 12:38 p.m.  That's reportedly about 100 yards from school property.

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting.
