Kerry Washington Pregnant, Expecting First Child With Husband Nnamdi Asomugha!

HER character, Olivia Pope, may be a supreme keeper of secrets on the hit TV show Scandal, but it seems Kerry Washington has been keeping a secret of her own - she's pregnant.

This will be the first child for the Emmy-nominated star (according to US Weekly, Washington is due to give birth in March), who married NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha in a low-key ceremony in Idaho in June. The couple first started dating in 2012; Washington was previously engaged to actor David Moscow.

Washington has kept her personal life on the down-low, telling Glamour magazine recently that she had "leaed through experience" that talking about her personal life just "doesn't work" for her.

"I’ve had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it," she explained. "But I couldn’t just tu around and say, ‘I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.’ So I just thought, ‘OK, no more.’"

That’s not to say she's going to completely lie, either. "I'm walking around in the world with my ring. And when people say congratulations, I say thank you," she said. "But I'm going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold."

No word as yet if Washington's pregnancy will be worked into the season three plot of the hit drama. We're hoping for a Huck/Olivia baby, but that’s just us…
