Katy Perry ditches her make-up to don frumpy tribal outfit on Hawaii holiday
Back to basics ... Katy Perry in Hawaii

KATY Perry looks a million miles from the glamorous Califoia Gurl her fans know - stepping out without make-up wearing ropey tribal print shorts and top.

But don’t worry - she hasn’t lost her fortune and become homeless or moved into a trailer park community.

The beauty was enjoying a dirty trip away with boyfriend John Mayer in Hawaii - trekking through mud.

The I Kissed A Girl star jetted off to see in the New Year with a back-to-nature trip on the island of Kauai.

Gone were her glam hair and high-heels, switched for a pair of simple canvas slip-ons.

But when you've just been voted the Hottest Woman of 2013 by Men's Health Magazine, you can pull off outfits like that.

Katy and John - who spent Christmas together - were snapped racing along in a two-seater ATV with their faces covered with bandanas as the dust flew up.

The pair also took a sports car for a spin, with Katy clearing screaming in the front seat, before stopping to pose for their own photos.

The big-hearted duo then travelled to a local hospital as part of a Dream Foundation initiative, which grants wishes for adults battling life-threatening illness.
