Jessica Colotl Graduates from KSU
A Kennesaw State University student who ignited a debate over illegal immigration graduated on Wednesday. Jessica Colotl was studying political science at the university.
Colotl was brought into the country illegally as a child, and she faced deportation when she was arrested for a traffic violation last year. Immigration officials deferred action on her case for a year to allow her to finish school. Last week, a year-long extension was approved.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed was among those who addressed the graduates at Wednesday's ceremony.
