Two people have been arrested after 15-month-old infant girl died and several others were found to be malnourished in a Gwinnett County motel room.

On Tuesday, Gwinnett County police officers were dispatched to Northside Hospital in Sandy Springs at the request of Sandy Springs Police Department regarding the suspicious death Alcenti Mcintosh.

Alcenti was brought to the hospital by her father, Calvin Mcintosh, 44, and was determined to be dead on arrival.

Due to the physical appearance of Alcenti, it was quickly determined by medical personnel that this was most likely a case of neglect and abuse, according to police.

Officers went to the Extended Stay on Jimmy Carter Blvd. in Peachtree Coers where the man said he was living.

Once there, officers found three other children, ages 5, 3 and 3. They were severely malnourished and were in need of medical attention.

Also in the room was a woman identified as Iasia Sweeting, 21. Sweeting was lying on the floor wrapped in blankets and was in desperate need of medical attention. She weighed only 59 pounds.

Another woman, Najlaa Mcintosh, 23, was in the room with them. Police said she is Calvin Mcintosh's biological daughter.

Investigators said Calvin Mcintosh fathered two children belonging to his daughter and two children belonging to Sweeting, one of them being Alcenti.

Police said Calvin Mcintosh ordered Najllaa Mcintosh to deprive Sweeting and the children of food if they were disobedient.

The Gwinnett County Medical Examiner ruled starvation as the cause of death for Alcenti.

Police said they believe Sweeting was deprived of food for the past few months.

Investigators said they also discovered, "copious amounts of literature and notes in reference to ritualistic behavior and the Nuwaubian Nation of Moors, an Islam based cult which is known for being a sovereign group."

The three surviving children were deprived and are in DFACS custody. Sweeting remains in the hospital in serious condition undergoing medical treatment.

Investigators arrested and charged Calvin Mcintosh and Najlaa Mcintosh with felony murder, malice murder, cruelty to children, and cruelty to a physically disabled adult.

In addition to the listed charges, Calvin Mcintosh was also charged with rape, incest, and aggravated sodomy against Najlaa Mcintosh.

Both are being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
