Huh? What? Where? 1 in 5 teenage boys have ADHD
Apparently our nation's lack of ability to focus on one thing for more than five damn minutes is more widespread than we thought.
The New York Times reported Monday that 15 percent of school-age boys in the U.S. have received an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder diagnosis, compared with 7 percent for girls.
In the 14-17 age bracket, the numbers jumped to 19 percent and 10 percent, respectively. But one leading ADHD researcher, James Swanson of Florida Inteational University, doubts those figures.
\"There's no way that one in five high-school boys has ADHD,\" he said, cautioning against over-diagnosing and ... something. We kind of drifted off there.
