Historic theater in Springfield to get renovation
SPRINGFIELD, Ga. (AP) - A historic theater in Springfield will get a $316,000 renovation.
The city council voted this week to permit the funding to finish the renovation by a scheduled April 25 opening date.
The Savannah Moing News reports the funding will pay for stage and communications lines and cinema, sound and light equipment.
City officials say the theater will show first-run and classic movies. It will also host concerts and plays.
